Kenneth Mineau

Kenneth Mineau, AIA, is an Associate and Director of the Santa Barbara office. Raised in the Midwest, he attended the University of California, Berkley, where he graduated in 1981 with a Bachelor's Degree in Architecture. After college, he practiced in Los Angeles, New York and Santa Barbara. After designing several projects in Japan, China and South East Asia he expatriated for several years to manage a satellite office for Berkus Group Architects and Kaplan Mclaughlin Diaz, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Special projects include work on the Sackler Museum at the University of Beijing, China; Campus master plans for Dartmouth College in New Hampshire and Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts; Embassies for the Malaysian Government in Beijing, China and Ottawa, Canada; as well as a variety of medical, community and resort planning projects throughout California, Florida, Japan and Malaysia.

In 2000, Ken joined Appleton & Associates Inc. as Director of the newly opened Santa Barbara office, where he oversees a variety of residential and commercial projects; most notably an extensive renovation of the historic San Ysidro Ranch Resort.

He is married to Normah Halim and enjoys photography, travel and canoeing; his lifelong involvement with the Boy Scouts of America has led to his recognition as a life Scout and Order of the Arrow.
